Alphabet Art

I did the word believe becasue everyone is always telling us to believe in yourself. Also, becasue we need to believe in ourselves to get through tough times, to try and fight the odds. I'm pretty happy with the way this came out, but I think I could have done better. I've had a rough week and unfortuantely didn't give it my all. R.I.P Donna <3

Why Shoot in Black & White?

Some people still choose to photograph in black &white. There is a large debate between what more people prefer. Color photography and black & white photography are very different. Sometimes black & white can be more dramatic and play a better roll to fit the mood for the picture than color. For example, if you were shooting a photo where someone was crying in color, it wouldn’t feel as sad or angry as it would be portrayed in black & white. It brings out more of an emotion to pictures that are meant to be sad and gloomy. Pictures that show happiness and joy would usually look better in color, in my opinion.
In the article, ‘Why Black & White Photography?’ (http://www.digital-photography-school.com/why-black-and-white-photography) it explains that some people are obsessed with black & white for the following reasons: versatility, no distractions, subtlety of tones, and variety. I can agree with some of these points of views. It said black & white is versatile because it can work with any type of photo whether it is a landscape, portrait, urban landscape, or even architecture.  The strongest point of view that stuck out to me in the article was about the distractions. A lot of time the colors get so in the way of the photo that the attention is taken off of the main focus of the photograph. All in all, everyone has their own opinion on black & white. It’s your preference.

Food Photography

zucchini chocolate chip cookies

pancake

house stack pancakes

pizza

fruits

spaghetti

limonada

I'm really happy with how all of my pictures came out. I think they all look appetizing and colorful. Next time I will try to use better backgrounds because I'm not crazy about the white I used. It tends to look blue and turn the food weird tints. Overall, I'm very very happy.

Become Someone Else

This picture is inspired by the campaign, "Become Someone Else" by the Lithuanian Agency called, Love or Mint Vinetu is a clever concept, well executed. We used library book and magazines we found to "become someone else." I really like the way this came out; mostly because I put his hand on top of the magazine. I used the color splash technique to bring out the title of the magazine because it's an iconic magazine.

Watermark

This is my watermark. I really like it. It's simple but original because of the little Polaroid I put behind it.

Mona Kerry?

For this set of pictures, I wanted the first one with someone admiring the Mona Lisa. In the next one, I originally wanted someones whole head through the picture, but because I did not have a large enough image, I made Kerry hold the picture in front of her and took another picture of her face, and placed it in the hole. I'm not very happy with the way this came out because it's not what I really wanted it to look like.

Milk Man

I wanted this set of pictures to show someone drinking the milk and having a milk mustache afterwards. I think I portrayed that well and I'm happy the mustache came out so good. I really like this set of pictures.

MJ or AA?
For this set, I wanted Al to look at the hat and glove wondering what he should do with it. Then, when he put them on, I wanted to show that he turned into Michael Jackson, like he had all the cool dance moves. I really like the way it came out, however, i don't know if I like the way it's arranged.
